Welcome to the Minnesota MG T Register

The purpose of this club is to bring together those who have a common interest in MG Sports cars including their restoration, preservation, and the enjoyment of driving them.

In particular, owners of the ‘T’ Series, and earlier vintage MG automobiles find a home here, but our members have all models of MGs from 1930 to 1980, the last year of the MG factory in Abingdon-on-Thames, UK.

The club sponsors events during the driving season to promote getting out on the open road, and gathering with like-minded friends.

The club is a source of technical expertise and historical knowledge for our car owners.

Mission Statement

To bring together those who have a common interest in the restoration and preservation of the “T” series and other vintage MGs, and in so doing, further the spirit of the vintage MG, partake in good fellowship, and develop greater interest in The Gathering of the Faithful.

Dedicated MG T Enthusiasts

The Minnesota MG T Register was founded in 1975 by a group of dedicated enthusiasts who enjoyed each other's company and had a common interest in driving, restoring and preserving classic MGs. Today the club continues that tradition with over 100 cars registered and more than 120 participating members. The club strives to plan fun events that include both men and women. Several cars are in restoration at any given time and the club provides expert advice from experienced members who have restored their own cars. You don’t need to own a T series MG to be a member of the club. All we require is that you enjoy the company of motor-heads and have an interest in classic MGs.

What is a classic MG?

The simple answer is that all of the MGs that Americans are familiar with could now be considered classics. These cars are all at least 4o years old and any of them will  provide an owner with a fun and rewarding hobby car experience.

Your questions answered

Question: I have been told that the MG XPAG engine in the “T” series cars is a long stroke design. This observation is often followed by some kind of a remark indicating that this is a very bad thing. My question is simple what are these people talking about?

Join/Renew Membership

If you own an MG, want to own an MG, or just like MGs, this is the club for you! Frist-time members are invited to join at the discounted rate of $20 for the first calendar year to attend our events, get to know us, and decide for yourself if this is the group for you.

After the first year, annual membership is $40. A membership year is January 1 through December 31 and renewals are due before January 31.
